  1. Max looked really flat today and Aubrey was sick. Keaton was still getting over his illness from last week, but managed to close in 68 seconds for the last lap.

Becky said the race felt hard, but not as hard as last week's league finals race which she ran 2 seconds slower than today.

It would have been nice to have another runner advancing forward to the Masters Meet with Becky, but Max has agreed to keep training so that Becky can have a training partner as long as her season continues.

  3. Well done to Becky--I knew she'd whip Harcus.

  4. Max was stressed out from the Millitary entrance exam that he took earlier in the day. I don't know really how he felt, but Coach K said he looked really flat. Aubrey started getting sick yesterday or the day before. She pretty much laid up in the stands for 4 hours before going to warm up for her race. Becky felt good, but the race was still hard.

  6. Wow. I'm taking notes on their mental strength, determination, and guts. I will learn a lot this summer.
Firstly, I can't believe Aubrey and Keaton raced whilst being ill. Dad tells me that Keaton won't be at the camp this summer, but Aubrey will be. I think Aubrey's a good role model. She gets up and runs no matter what. Me and my stupid toe!
I think Max sounds like an amazing team member. Training with Becky even though he isn't competing is wicked! Plus, I don't know anyone who would race after a stressful exam! That to me shows love of running and competing. I wish I lived in America.
Well done to Becky on qualifying and winning. I can't believe the amount of racing she's doing...its awesome!

I'm really excited about going to America and meeting everyone. Training with them will be fantastic!

  7. Keaton was really sick last week. I didn't think he would be able to run at our league finals meet. He was better this week but still not fully recovered....a bit of a sore throat still is what he said.

Aubrey was absent from school today (which almost never happens) so she must be feeling pretty bad.

I drove out to find Becky and Max on their run today. Max said his calf was starting to hurt so I told him that we should probably shut him down for the season now. Keaton will still be able to run with Becky (hopefully).

  8. I didn't realise until you sent me the results that Shannon Harcus was so close to Becky's time. About 1 sec behind? That would've been good to see, Becky toughing it out on the last 200. Impressive.
