Mileage Progression Goals

OK, team.  Here is a general outline for the team as to how you should try and progress your mileage totals heading forward

2017-2018 Mileage Goals

A couple of things to bear in mind.


  1. These goals represent your highest 3 week total for the season.  Some of you did not come close to maintaining those totals for the whole season.  You should strive to be consistently near your mileage goals, not hit them once and then fall off. 
  2. You do not need to hit mileage totals exactly.  For example, lets say you are aiming for a 3 week total of 135 for an average of 45 mpw.  Your totals for weekly totals for the 3 weeks might look like this: 42, 47, 45.  
  3. You should strive to hit this mileage peak a few times during the off season with easy weeks in between peaks.  Each time you reach the mileage peak, you should be able to run a little bit faster on all of your workouts.  You might be running an average of 8:00 per mile the first time you hit the mileage peak, but by the 3rd time you hit it, maybe your average pace would be down to 7:40.  

Stay focused this off season.  Run with a teammate, make a commitment.  Be excellent!
