The week prior to the TVL opener, every year since the century began, the Hughson Cross Country teams have run a time trial to help prepare them for the upcoming season. Every year, we have kept accurate records. 2026 will go down as the FASTEST YEAR of all time for the HHS Harriers!

Boys Highlights.
The boys beat the all time best team mark by 31 seconds, eclipsing the mark set by the 2019 team. Manny Ruiz led our group with the #2 mark of all time, narrowly missing the all time team record which is held by 2013 SJS Champion, Zach Morrett. Not only did the Huskies top runners perform historically well, but we managed to put 8 runners into our all time top 25 athletes (on a list that goes back 27 years!). Mason Hoyle, Sam Alvarado, Juan Palos, Shane Lockwood, Tyler Phun, Jeremiah Alvarado, and Diego Salinas all managed to dip under 10:50 for the 2 mile course.

Girls Highlights
The boys may have beaten the all time record. But our girls SMASHED theirs, eclipsing the all time mark (set last year) by 1 minute and 52 seconds!!! The girls were led by Grace Benitez, who moved to #3 on the all time girls top performers list. Just like the boys, the girls team put a slew of girls onto our list of top performers of all time. Maggie Becchetti, Sophia Aguiar, Melanie Sanchez, Allison Landeverde, and Jaelyn Anguiano can now be counted among the top 20 girls to ever put on a HHS cross country uniform.
