Tactical madness by everyone else because they knew going out fast on the first two laps would have handed the title to Scarlett. I do not know where Scarlett got her pace judgement sense from, but that race was run to perfection on the last 800. She knew Gwynn went too fast too soon, 400 pace with 600 to go-sure enough, Gwynn died with 150 to go. The girls who came second did a 200 sprint, then died with 100 to go. Scarlett timed it to perfection-bloody gave me a fright though. Reminded me a bit of Kelly Holmes; she too had great pace judgement and a powerful finish. Scarlett has the Welsh schools 1500 championships final next; plan is to experiment, go out from the start and don't stop till the finish. After that, she has an SIAB international (in France I think) two weeks after the schools final.
