When: July 19th, 2025 - July 24th, 2025
Who: All members of the Hughson Cross Country team who have been putting in summer miles are eligible
Why: To build fitness and camaraderie for the upcoming season and to learn more about our sport.
Where: Serene Lakes, CA.

Please Open and Read the Following Documents (will open in a new window)

If you plan on attending you MUST have

  • A physical and insurance paperwork on file.  This must be done in homecampus.com
  • A signed permission slip turned in.
  • $300 for food and cabin rental+ a little spending money for the trip up, the trip back, and a night out in Tahoe
    • Unfortunately, things are more expensive now.  We're taking more kids and had to get a second cabin.   Last year we got the cops called on us for having too many people in one cabin.  It will be more expensive for food and gas this year, so unfortunately, I have to raise the price.

Travel Order -Selection Criteria

The order of priority for camp is based upon the following criteria
  1. Ability to make top 7
  2. Summer mileage - All the ability in the world won't do you any good at camp if you're not currently at the level where you can comfortably run 25 miles per week
  3. Attendance at summer practice - Camp is a reward as well as a team building activity and training venue.  I appreciate when athletes make the effort to show up at our practices.  I understand vacations and summer jobs are real, but athletes who do not communicate their schedule with me will find themselves off the travel roster
  4. Experience.  Being new does not disqualify you from camp, but if 2 athletes are equal in all regards, the experienced athlete will get selected for camp.

Travel Order - 2025

Boys
  1. Sandro
  2. Rick
  3. Mason
  4. Sam
  5. Juan
  6. In the mix: Wyatt, Carlos, Noah, Diego, Jason, Ryan, Manny, Eddie, Roberto
Girls
  1. Noeli
  2. Sophie Benham
  3. Bailey
  4. Allison
  5. Maggie
  6. In the mix: Sophia A. Sophia G, Melanie, Lizeth, Jaelyn, Grace.
The athletes listed above all have the ability to make our varsity 7.  The athletes that are listed as "solid" have been showing up to practice, every day, on time.  Or, they have good excuses (ie, wisdom teeth, Austraila, Hawaii, you get the idea.  Oversleeping doesn't cut it.

We will likely take 9-10 boys and 9-10 girls.

I will be going back and checking this travel order by the end of next week and comparing it to who has their AthleticClearance accounts updated.  Remember, no physical, no camp!
